03

At Terminal

Freight arrives at a carrier terminal for sorting, transfer, or consolidation.

FAQ

Tracking Questions

Where do I find my tracking number?

Your tracking number (PRO number or BOL number) is included in the shipment confirmation email you received when your freight was booked. If you cannot locate it, call us at +1 682-978-8641 with your pickup date and origin address, and we will look it up for you.

How often are tracking updates provided?

Tracking frequency depends on the carrier and shipping mode. LTL carriers typically update at each terminal scan — pickup, transfer, out for delivery, and delivery. FTL shipments with ELD-equipped trucks can provide GPS-based updates every 15 to 30 minutes. We can also call the carrier directly for a live status check on your behalf at any time.

What is the difference between a PRO number and a BOL number?

A PRO (Progressive Rotating Order) number is assigned by the carrier and is the primary tracking identifier for LTL shipments. A BOL (Bill of Lading) number is assigned by the shipper or broker and appears on the shipping document. Both can be used to track your shipment, though the PRO number is more commonly used for carrier portal lookups.

What should I do if my shipment appears delayed?

Contact us immediately. Delays can result from weather, mechanical issues, terminal congestion, or driver availability. We will contact the carrier, get an updated ETA, and work on contingency plans if needed — including re-routing, expediting, or arranging alternative capacity for the remaining leg of your shipment.

Can I track multiple shipments at once?

Our customer portal (coming soon) will allow you to view all active shipments in a single dashboard with real-time status updates. In the meantime, call us or email info@directfleetdispatch.com and we will provide a status summary for all your open shipments.
